Aullwood’s 19th Native Plant Sale is coming! This year’s in person only sale will be Friday April 28 and Saturday April 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Aullwood Farm, 9101 Frederick Pike, Dayton Ohio. We will feature more than 100 species and includes many new offerings this year! Spring ephemerals such as Virginia Bluebells, Giant White Trillium, Squirrel Corn and Twinleaf and more will also be available at this year’s sale.
To see our exact plant offerings this year, download the native plant sale catalog PDF here or scroll down to the bottom of the page and look under the "Downloadable Resources" heading. Each plant’s catalog description includes soil and light requirements, colorful photos, and ways in which the plant supports pollinators and native wildlife. Need help deciding which plants will attract the most birds and wildlife to your garden? Check Audubon’s Plants for Birds database at https://www.audubon.org/plantsforbirds for assistance! Also available at the sale will be an array of gardening and bird-related items from our Nature Store and Gift Shop, including planters, field guides, hummingbird feeders, puzzles, decorative items and more!
Study our catalog early and make a list of the plants you need, so you'll be ready to shop when you arrive at the sale! There will be limited inventory of some plant species, so we suggest coming early if you have your heart set on a specific plant, shrub or tree.
Aullwood's 2023 Native Plant Sale will be in person only, with no pre-orders or curbside pick up options available.
Admission to the Aullwood Native Plant Sale will be free for all shoppers. Purchases may be made with VISA, MasterCard, or Discover, check or cash. Boxes will be available to hold your plants and volunteers will be available to assist with loading large orders. All plant sales are final.
Why plant native? In 2019, the State of Ohio designated the month of April as Ohio Native Plant Month to increase awareness of Ohio’s native plants and the many benefits they provide to pollinators, Ohio’s economy, and the health of Ohio’s environment. More and more people are joining the movement to plant native, as they come to understand that native plants provide food and shelter for wildlife, increase biodiversity and attract natural predators that help control pest species.
Profits from the Aullwood Audubon Native Plant Sale provide critical funding needed for Aullwood's ongoing programs of environmental education and habitat preservation. We truly appreciate your enthusiasm and love for native plants. Have questions? Email AskUs@aullwood.org or call 937-890-7360 x214 and leave a message. Thank you for your support!
