Special Event

The Geo Gnomes of Aullwood

You’re invited to visit Aullwood to meet some unique guests! Ten very special Geo Gnomes will call Aullwood home from January 2 to February 29. The gnomes can be found at the Center, Farm, and in a few places in the nature sanctuary. Come hunt for all ten life-sized gnomes and guess their true home state! Every gnome is decorated with clues such as their state bird, state flower, state mammal or other special detail their state is known for. Grab a Geo Gnome raffle ticket at the Center or Farm front desk, then start hunting to find these winter visitors and discover which state each one hails from.

Write your answers on the raffle ticket to enter a drawing to win a year-long Friends of Aullwood family membership (or renewal) or to have the Ohio gnome relocate to your house! The first 50 families to identify the home states of the Geo Gnomes of Aullwood will also receive a hand-made mini-gnome to take home. (One mini-gnome will be provided per family.) Boxes for the drawing will be located at both the Farm and Center front desks. Only one submission per family per visit is allowed, but families may enter every time they visit. The Geo Gnomes of Aullwood will only be around through the end of February, so be sure to catch them before they depart!

The Geo Gnomes of Aullwood can be found during Aullwood Audubon's regular business hours; check our Upcoming Events calendar for holiday closings or other schedule changes. Members of Aullwood, National Audubon Society and ANCA affiliated organizations can search for Geo Gnomes at no cost; nonmembers pay regular Aullwood general admission fees, which are free for children 3 and under, $8.00 for children 4 to 12, $12.00 for adults 13 to 64, and $10.00 for seniors age 65 and over, active duty military members and veterans with military ID. Join us for a winter gnome hunt!
