Summer Earth Adventures 2024

Find your flock at Aullwood Audubon's Summer Earth Adventures 2024! SEA 2024 camps will run from June 10 through August 9. Each week will feature a different theme as campers explore the great outdoors on Aullwood's trails and farm. Campers will leave a fun-filled week with a t-shirt, a new book, arts and crafts, knowledge learned, and adventures experienced! 

Registration for the general public will open on Monday, March 25, 2024. Visit https://aullwood.audubon.org/subscribe to join our mailing list and be notified directly when registration opens. Early registration on March 11 and a 25% discount on tuition are available for Friends of Aullwood members. Many scholarships are available for this year's camps - please email education@aullwood.org to learn more!

Want to know more about our SEA 2024 classes before registration opens? Read on for themes and details! All camps run from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless listed below as a 9:30 a.m. - noon half-day session running Monday through Wednesday for ages 4-5. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available for full-day camps only for an additional fee. 

WEEK 1: Junior Entomologists
June 10-14
Learn all about bugs and other creepy crawlies! Students aged 8-12 can join Chris Rowlands as part of our Backyard Bug Band.

  • Spiders, Scorpions, Dragonflies, Oh My! (ages 9-12)

WEEK 2: Nature Art
June 17-21
Become a Camouflage Critter and create your own wild and wonderful artwork. Students aged 8-12 can join Chris Rowlands and learn to Paint with a Naturalist.

WEEK 3: What’s in the Woods
June 24-28
Discover all the kinds of creatures that live in the woods and learn how to find them. Students aged 9-12 can join Environmental Educator Sam Romeo and hone their wilderness skills.

  • Hop, Slither, Crawl (ages 5-6)
  • Scutes, Scales, and Slimy Tails (ages 6-7)
  • Fur, Tracks, and Scat (ages 7-8)
  • Survive to Thrive with Sam Romeo (ages 9-12)


WEEK 4: Nature Rocks
July 8-12
After a week at this camp you’ll also think geology rocks! Students aged 6-12 can learn all about rocks and how they are formed, go fossil hunting, create a take-home rock collection, and more. Little ones aged 4-5 are guaranteed to get muddy as they explore and create with mud, sticks, and stones.

WEEK 5: Junior Ornithologists
July 15-19
The birdiest week of Summer Earth Adventures! Students of all ages can become bird nerds. Students aged 8-12 can join Environmental Educator Sam Romeo to become an expert in birds of prey, or join Chris Rowlands to help paint some of our resident raptors to be displayed here at Aullwood.

WEEK 6: Farmer for a Week
July 22-26
Come and meet some new farmyard friends down at Aullwood Farm! Meet Peter, our farmer, and learn what it takes to be a farmer for a week.

WEEK 7: S.C.I.: Can You Identify?
July 29-August 2
Can you identify tracks, scat, and other signs of animal activity? Come join the Summer Camp Investigations (S.C.I.) team and see what you can spy.

  • Sticks, Stones, and Really Cool Bones (ages 6-7)

WEEK 8: Do You Know About H2O?
August 5-9
Come to camp prepared to get wet! Learn some water magic or bubble science, become a Junior Ichthyologist (nothing “ichy” about fish!), or learn about conservation as a Stream Keeper.
