Our small Monarch House has reopened at Aullwood Farm, 9101 Frederick Pike! Aullwood's Monarch House is a small greenhouse near the front of Aullwood's Farm Discovery Center, which over the summer will feature blooming plants, Monarchs in various phases of development and information on the butterfly life cycle. Caterpillars are munching away and milkweed plants are now blooming and thriving! Come learn about the incredible migratory Monarch butterfly and the variety of milkweed species it feeds on.
This self-guided experience is included with regular Aullwood admission and can be enjoyed during regular business hours, 9 AM to 5 PM Tuesday through Saturday and 1 PM to 5 PM Sunday. (Aullwood's Nature Center, Farm Discovery Center, trails and property are closed on Mondays.) Depending on the day and time of year, the number of caterpillars, chrysalises and adult butterflies in the house will vary. Keep checking in on our plants, Monarch caterpillars and chrysalises as summer progresses!
